ABTOT was saddened to hear that Monarch Airlines and Monarch Holidays Limited ceased trading this morning and is conscious this will cause uncertainty and distress to customers who have booked flights directly with Monarch or who have a flight through Monarch as part of their package holiday.
If you have booked a flight direct with Monarch and have paid by card, you should contact your card issuer to arrange a refund. Unfortunately this does not form part of the financial protection arranged by ABTOT members.
For any customers who have booked a package holiday through an ABTOT member and which contains a Monarch flight, please wait to hear from your travel organiser as they will be liaising with the CAA to arrange for your repatriation home, if you are currently abroad or for an alternative flight, if you are yet to travel. Our members will be looking to get in touch as soon as possible, but this will be a very busy time with many tens of thousands of customers affected throughout the industry. Please therefore bear with your travel organiser whilst they look to make contact regarding your arrangements.
