Online Teams Call
In light of the evolving situation in the Middle East, ABTOT will be hosting a dedicated Members Teams Call with Travlaw to provide both legal and practical guidance to help you navigate the impact on your customers, operations and obligations.
This session will include an overview of how the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 (PTRs) place explicit responsibility on travel organisers for the performance of the travel services included in a package. We will walk through the key areas where this is most relevant during periods of disruption.
The call will be interactive and fluid, giving Members the opportunity to ask questions and raise issues specific to their businesses.
Topics we will cover include:
- Air Passenger Rights
Managing customers affected by cancelled flights, delays and repatriation requirements. - Travel Organiser Liability under the PTRs
- Responsibilities for the performance of the package’s travel services
- Legal obligations when a significant part of a holiday can no longer be provided
- The duty to offer assistance to affected travellers
- Customers Cancelling Future Trips
Understanding when customers may rely on “unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances” and how to assess these claims. - Recovering Refunds from Suppliers
The legal process and practical steps for claiming refunds from airlines, hotels and other suppliers. - Monitoring FCDO Travel Advice
Best practice for staying current and understanding its implications for your obligations. - Preparing for Possible Escalation
Practical actions to take and considerations for contingency planning.
This call will be an invaluable opportunity to seek clarity on your responsibilities under the PTRs and to discuss real-time challenges with fellow Members.
