How we work

  • The Travel Bond Set-Up Process

As ABTOT is an approved body (approved by the Department for Business and Trade) we oversee the travel bond process which enables ABTOT Members to speak directly to us about their bonding requirements.

    First Step

The first step is to have a call with the Business Development Team who will be able to assess if you meet our criteria, Applicants need to be:

    • a small to medium sized travel organiser
    • a principal/ (travel organiser) or Linked Travel Arranger. We do not provide retail travel bonds
    • able to demonstrate that they have or can have £10k paid up share capital
    • able to meet the initial financial criteria

    Second Step

When you have passed the first step you will be asked to provide supporting financial information for us to complete a financial assessment. When we are able to offer terms, we will confirm a cost indication and include any conditions that are required for your Membership.

    Third Step

Once you have accepted the cost indication, you will need to complete the online application form and pay the application fee. We will complete the Membership process and forward an offer of Membership as well as a quote for the travel bond premium, once we have received the completed application form and the application fee.

In February this year we decided that Gane and Marshall should apply for membership of ABTOT in order comply with travel regulations, to secure a bond under for our non-ATOL business, and to help us manage our ATOL annual applications. The ABTOT team were professional, knowledgeable, and most helpful during the application process, we have secured the bond at an affordable rate, and now we display with pride the ABTOT logo.
