customer information - protection under ABTOT
What is covered under ABTOT?
If an ABTOT member can no longer meet its financial obligations, the bond will be called.
The bond will cover the reimbursement of customers' prepayments, costs of repatriation to the UK from abroad if it formed part of the original package price, any refunds due to the customers which had been agreed but not paid before the failure of the organiser and any reasonable additional costs of returning to the UK which had been incurred as a result of the organiser failing during the holiday.
What is not covered under ABTOT?
The ABTOT bond does not provide any protection for licensable transactions.
- this covers any package or transaction that contains a flight from or returning to the UK. The ABTOT bond also does not cover extra holiday costs such as travel insurance or car hire, unless this is sold as part of the holiday package.
