guidance on completing quarterly declarations

When completing the declaration, please ensure that all sections are completed accurately. The period for which the declaration relates to will be inserted by ABTOT at the top of the form, as does the latest date for its return.

  1. All turnover and passengers numbers, in respect of passengers whose travel commenced in the period must be recorded.
  2. Breakage deposits relate to deposits taken from your customers as a form of security against breakages.
  3. If you hold an ATOL please keep us informed of any variations to the Licence in the period. Please include copies of the completed ATOL variation application form and relevant correspondence if you are applying for a variation to your ATOL bond.
  4. If you need to vary your ABTOT bond please complete the table shown lower in the quarterly declaration form detailing the past and future quarters of your current bonding year. Alternatively contact this office to discuss your projections.

It may be necessary to increase your bonding cover. Failure to maintain the correct level of bonding cover may result in a financial penalty or in more serious cases an increase in the bonding level.

Whilst we are asking you to review your projected turnover at the end of each quarter we would also ask that you keep a close eye on future bookings throughout the year, as they are taken. Please contact us immediately it appears that you may exceed your projections as this will allow us to take action without delay to ensure that you are protected for the correct levels at all times. Finally, it is vital that these declarations are returned to this office in good time, at the latest one month after the end of each quarter. A fine of £150.00 will be imposed on any company who consistently submits their declaration after the due date; further penalties may be applied if this continues after a fine has been imposed.

Of course we try to keep matters as straight forward as possible but should you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us on 0845 4504 618.
